Author Topic: dark enclosed rooms  (Read 2925 times)

have you ever wondered how light gets in when your in a room that closed on all sides without windows? if its possible rooms that have no sources of light and have all sides closed in should be dark. also this would make the game more realistic. and windows let in light in the little area they are placed in. this would make the game more like real legos :D

Bricks do not have shadows because that would require a mission relight every second or so, or when a brick is placed. Don't forget that mission lighting actually takes a second and that's about 20 minutes or so when someone decides to load their BMP2SCRIPT macro or load bricks from their computer. They do, however, have shadows when you are taking a screenshot. Maybe try finding the screenshot commands and see whether you can get the shadows part, but it'd probably cause you massive lag as it calculates it every time you move.

To summerize everything, Torque does not handle this well.

The advanced one probably would, but then we would all need super high end computers D:

I don't think so..
Maybe, but I haven't tested this yet, but doesn't Gmod support this kind of stuff?
Where if you build a giant closed box you would get no light?
Again, I haven't tested this yet, just asking.

Comparing TGE with Half Life engine?

currently known as the source engine. the older half life engine had strange bouncy gibs.
