The blocko image has been purposefully made to look bad. Blocko is about making the model blocko, not building badly with bricks.

I don't see much difference between those two.

I'm not talking about polygons. I'm talking about using the existing bricks to add as much detail as possible to your build. Even if this is a lego game, that doesn't mean you have to build like a child. There are adults who build with lego too, and they add alot of detail to their builds.

by "chair" I suppose you mean wing chairs that are basically blobs you can form any way you want (same thing with couches) instead of wooden chairs with legs and stuff

I assure you that if anyone builds like the top image it's not because they're trying to follow a blocko style, it's because they're just not that good at building.

Here is my attempt at Blocko.

Default bricks. Default colors. Default lights. The candle holder was a little squashed in and could have been done better, but for people who aren't handicapped like Nym and can build, this took me 20 seconds.

You have different standards in general. The chair in the "detailed" picture completely and utterly ruins the picture. If someone made a wooden-looking chair with a curved top out of bricks, then it would look better.
