If you wait in the cell long enough after the capture bad things happen and you lose.
The shadow brown town rapes you

Also, concerning the Guardian,

I don't think the water monster = guardian. Even though some of the sound files assigned to the water monster are under guardian, I don't think they're the same thing. Some of the audio files for the guardian, which are not used in game, are massive ground shaking, terrifying roars. I think that the guardian was supposed to be a massive monster but never made it a functional enemy in the game, except for the shadow manifestation in the youtube video I just posted.

normal = stopping Alexander from entering the portal
good is throwing Agrippa's head into the portal, and bad is letting Alexander go through the portal

Ah, everyone forgets the forth ending asablief mentioned. So there is four:

  • Throw Agrippa's head into the Portal. It closes and the Shadow kills both of you. Agrippa talks as if he saves you in the afterlife from the other dimension.
  • You break Alexander's machine/whatever. The Portal closes and the Shadow kills him. You walk out guilt free.
  • You let him enter the Portal. The Shadow consumes you, as you hear the sounds of everyone you killed.
  • You stay in the jail cell you wake up in near the end of the game long enough, the Shadow will slowly creep in and eventually kill you.

Guardian?

I've never heard of it.

Guardian?

I've never heard of it.
Remember when Daniel was writing in his journal about when he was running from something?
And it ate the fishermen instead? That was the guardian.

Guardian?

I've never heard of it.
Guardian = Shadow
it's called the guardian because it guards the orb that Daniel found.
Shadow = roaring thing that puts red stuff on walls and likes to cause cave-ins

I don't think that the shadow exactly the same as the guardian, I think the shadow is some kind of spirit, and it manifests into the guardian, which is the scary ass roaring thing that puts the red everywhere. I think that they intended the guardian to be a recurring enemy judging by the presence of tell-tale sound files.

I counter your chase music with TERROR

so you're saying the guardian was just some thing guarding the orb and Daniel frolicked through the ruins until he found it, then he ran away, so the guardian thought 'how could I make this man stuff as many bricks as possible' and manifested into the shadow, providing as many brick-stuffs as he could until Daniel returned the orb? (which he didn't so yah)
sounds too complicated tbh.

I think it is. The "guardian of the orb" is the force that pursues you. The shadow is just what the characters call it. It manifests itself physically as the shadow, but it's still part of the force known as the guardian.

I heard the meaty stuff is just what it leaves, not actually what it is. Which would make sense, since there's a chase part where it can instantly kill you. The meaty stuff is just left from it's presence.

I wish they gave it a model, what do you think it would look like if it has some sort of physical being?

Perhaps something like

?

I also wish they made it a reoccurring enemy that shows up maybe 3 times in very large rooms like the chancel or in the choir instead of brutes, and it would've had to been outworldy massive.

It's better without a model. Some things are better left unknown. That's the point of Lovecraftian horror.
