I don't own HL so I'm watching ChaoticMonki's LP on YouTube. On part 6 now.

With the exception of the voice acting, (which is laughable) the whole thing is really well done.

Well, I started tearing up, late 1st ending, then through the 2nd ending. Then I lost it on the 3rd one. But the 4th one gave me tears of happiness and empathy.
