Ok I just got the laptop and it's all good news pretty much, he said it's mine and that I probably woen't have to give it back. It's a fairly big computer (Can someone tell me how to find the specs) and it's running on Windows XP professional so I am definitely going to have to update to Windows 7 ASAP.

To be honest I wouldn't use it for gaming.

I would use it strictly for school. I wouldn't see the point in wasting space on an already small hard drive.

OK good I have 37 20 GB of free memory. That's not a hell of a lot but at least I can install steam and maybe TF2. 37 is the total.

TF2 won't run on that.
Best you can run is Terraria, but you can play team fortress classic if you want!

that's 370,000 kilobytes

initial install only requires 5 GB of HDD memory

most of the newer games are like close to 8 or 9 GB
