everyone, look outside, there's a ring around the moon

i'm not sure if it shows up for everyone but I'm in Las Vegas and it looks like this:

it's scary but super cool

The moon shouldn't show that bright, especially in the middle of a bit, lit city. I think you found the 2012 killer.

The moon is darker than usual, i can actually see the darker parts of it, it's also got this fading glow around it, though that may be because there are some clouds in it's way, which may also explain why it's darker

Still, it's nice seeing a full moon

I saw that once at my house. Usually happens during cloudy/misty weather.

It's a halo, an atmospheric effect formed by ice crytals. Beautiful, but nothing special.
