frankly it's not, it'd probably be better if it was just a series of standalone action scenes without any excuse plot to get in the way
just make it a bloody arcade brawler and it'd be better

It isn't better. But I'm actually interested in the plot a bit, and, as I said before, the action scenes are top-notch. The weapons themselves are really cool too. Have you seen how efficiently they use recoil? I've never before seen an anime where it's a cutting tool, combined with a gun, and the gun is used 75% of the time to fling the weapon around at high speeds. Quite ingenious, if you ask me. Really, in terms of the animation quality, I feel they could've done better (well, action scenes are fine), possibly by using something that is not Poser, making the models a bit higher res, and making the animation snappier in general. Although, I guess it's possible that the characters aren't higher poly count to decrease render time.

Pretty much this. The action is what has drawn me into this series and the plot isn't THAT bad, it just needs some work. And about the animation, it definitely needs more realistic movements when no action is happening.

Oh yes I forgot about that. I love the music, especially the battle themes and the OP. Pretty darn awesome.
