No new mecha series this season, only things worth noting are the 08th MS Team Blu-Rays in Feb and Gundam Unicorn ep 6 in March.

I don't have much faith in mecha anime now that the 3 latest Gundam series (excluding Unicorn) have been massive disappointments in some form, and Eureka Seven AO's ending left a lot to be desired.

I gave up Gundam years back when all it became was young crybaby new-types that could destroy average grunt-type mobile suits without taking hit. Sunrise also votoms which needs a new reboot series, the spinoffs are terrible and use shonan style animation.

If they develop as characters, they're fine. This is what makes Kamille Bidan (Zeta) and Banagher Links (Unicorn) different from Kira friend Jesus Beamspam Mary Sue Yamato (SEED).

I'm giving this show a three episode test. So far the only reason I can see me watching it is because of her. The story is just stufftingly awful.

Setsuna was fine in S1, he devolved into near-Kira status in S2.

I've never watched 00, but yeah both of them. Shiro in 8th team got upset every once in awhile but managed to lead the team and recover and get the zeek girl of his dreams. I also liked the wrap-up episode where the war on earth is over and Ninorich goes out to find Shiro.

Just finished the 00 movie. Completely predictable, right from the start.

The next Gundam series should be that of a squad of grunts that is overall successful in a Colony v Earth war, but their side ends up losing. After the Earth is united, they live as mercenaries doing bodyguard/transportation work while Earth expands into space. So basically, Firefly + Mobile Suits.

the 00 movie was stuff. I don't understand how it managed to be worse than season 2.

but then again I thought SEED was absolute stuff, and people tell me SEED Destiny is worse.
