Maybe if I had super fast internet I would always download series, but for now I don't see the point in setting a series up to download, waiting a day for it to download and then watching it, when I could just have instant access to all of the episodes from the get-go.

i think you have it backwards
streams are ALWAYS far later than fan subs, a fan sub is up usually a day or so after the original airing

and "waiting a day for it to download?"
that's not a matter of having fast internet, that's a matter of having something beyond dial-up

And it's not hard to torrent a series and set the download priority in the order of the episodes. By the time you're done watching episode 1, episode 2 is done downloading, then 3, etc.

I wasn't saying anything about downloads/torrents being subbed earlier or later than streams.
And downloading a 26-ish episode series takes a long time for me, which so far has only every been worth it in the case of downloading my favs to share with other people.

When I say downloading I mean torrenting.
I don't see how it would benefit me in any way to torrent over streaming even if my internet was fast enough to torrent an episode every 20ish minutes, when I can just stream whenever I want and it doesn't take up space on my computer for something that I will most likely never watch again.

If I want to watch it again I will stream it again.
It takes no time or disk space.

How long it takes me to buffer a 20 min video = 0-2 mins max
How long it takes me to torrent a 20 min video = at least an hour, usually

And no I don't care about "find better torrents" or whatever, I really just don't have any reason to download the episodes.
If I want them downloaded, I will download them, if not I wont.

I don't steam because it takes about the same time for it to download as it takes to load the full video.
