Yeah, eps 1-7 were borderline masterpiece and 7-10 was strange but still great. The last three eps have been somewhat entertaining, but nowhere near as enjoyable as the first third of the series. The rest of the Flamengers are really just cardboard cutout characters and it really sucks that Gotou was stuck on the sidelines. It's like they switched writers or something. And Kaname's a richard. It's also notable that the paper doll dancing ED is creepy as forget and makes me think Manglobe couldn't afford to animate an actual dance ED.
Somewhat related, call me weird for having a dream about watching an anime, but maybe I'm just that disappointed in the series. Went something like Hazama in the middle of a crowd of dead people (kinda like his dream in the latest ep), but he becomes the new Red Axe through manly spirit stuff (e.g. calls Kaname's name instead of calling him Master, then he gets this rad shining gauntlet thing out of nowhere and an axe comes out of it). I guess in my delusion, Kaname actually died instead of pusillanimous individualing out. Doesn't help that I've been watching the F-Zero anime and I already know how the end of the series goes for Captain Falcon and the main character, pretty much the same thing happens.
Or maybe I'm clairvoyant and something cool will actually happen, we've got 9 episodes left to see if I'm psychic.
And Dexx actually went back to give the series another chance, I'll give him credit for that...even if the series turned out to disappoint me.
