I read the Silent Horizon description, and I love it. A lot.
It seems like a good game idea, while making your character and the place look pretty, eliminating clutter and having an environment where you can focus and plan, instead of being able to run out into the open and use minimum effort to do things. (hence large snowy forest)
Here's some ideas/questions/requests:
--Take irl communications by something like morse code
This is entirely up to the people playing, let them use different forms of communication if they want, but these sorts of things are established by the players, not the developers.--How would ammunition be gained? Is it a once-pickup and won't go back or a regeneration?
Ammunition is gained from recovering it from other weapons/scavenging/ or just spawning with it, but the limit is only two extra clips, could be brought down to one though.--When you talk, make one of the options (before or after selecting what you want to say) be to shout, talk pretty loudly, talk at an inside-a-room level, and to whisper.
--Are you going to have speech be a part at all?
All those speech options are very unnecessary, just text and mic is fine.--If you are, who's going to do it? Will you imitate different voices or will you hire voice actors? (or just get some friends to do it lol)
only time will tell--How would the "being wounded" system work? Irl you get shot basically once and you're down, a medic would give you a better chance of living if it's not a shot to the heart or to the head. In Blockland, you can take a sniper rifle bodyshot and live (if you have no mods for damage). In TF2, someone can unload a pistol or SMG clip into you and do roughly the same amount of damage as someone hitting you with a melee weapon. In games like BF3 or MW2/3 or "realistic first person shooters" like that, it's a mix from my understanding.
--Teamkill: On, off, or toggleable?
forget realism, this is a game, good old health bars is just fine, walking around with only 3 health left? too bad was probably your own fault for letting it get that low. and friendly fire isn't even going to be discussed, it encourages grieving, only best to leave it out completely--Can you carry more than 1 melee weapon in Isolation? It seems like you should be able to shove another crowbar into your bag or strap another fire axe onto your back. This also brings up the question of more than 1 sidearm into your bag.
One melee weapon, one primary, one secondary, if you know what you're doing that's all you should need.--Vehicles: Y/N? I understand that there would be no combines or tanks, but it would be cool to drive a tattered up pickup around with extra room for weapons, food and supplies. And of course it would require gasoline.
This has been on my mind for some time, but a definite maybe.--As soon as I read "set up a base" my heart leaped. I want to be able to make little structures and stuff or hideouts. c: But in all reality, it seems like it would be hard to make a house or dig a foundation and make buildings in short time. So, maybe use existing simple bases and set up walls and stuff from a pile inside the base.
no terraforming or building stuff, I meant just finding an empty building and setting up shop, that's all. Could potentially encourage house spotting and deal with finding the best landmarks and geographical choke points.--I know this is pretty iffy, being as weapons are hard to come by, but I would like weapon variation, as in lots of styles and slightly tweaked functions for different purposes, and it would be probable that most types of weapons wouldn't all be in the map.
That feels like making things more complicated than they need to be.--To eliminate people getting pure advantage from knowing their way around the map, I have something that would be offsetting: Randomize the map's direction (north, south, east, west), the general locations of where specific environments are, and where specific landmarks are in those environments. And to top it all off, make the map repetitive in where its places are and eliminate bundles of weaponry/buildings/supplies.
Maps are procedurally generated, NO ONE is supposed "know" the mapalso another sketch
