It's a good gun. I've used it before.
I tried it but it just wasn't meant for me.
I've never played the game.

Seeing as how this topic is getting out of hand, lemme go see what I can do this week.

This will probably be my first animation with hands.

Doesn't really need hands. Primarily a realistic sound file and reload animation every 20 shots.

the NV service rifle if anything is modeled after a 1970's AR-15, not an M16

Bamp

I think by this point no one is doing it because it's a service rifle. It's one of the most uninspired weakest weapons of the game.

In no way is it an inspiring weapon. It's just a simple M16 with a different name.

Laser pistol, alien blaster, fatman, 12.7mm sub machinegun, plasma weapons, Gatling laser, etc are all inspiring weapons.

The inspirational value of something is only determined by one's opinion. Those may seem cool to you but all of us have varied opinions about our own.

Well the majority just sees it as another M16; an M16 we have over 10 different models of.

That. Also, I see nothing wrong with making something like this from scratch. I had 2 people via PM and The Corporation offer to help and a friend from school is making a Fallout 9mm Pistol, Combat knife, and frag grenade to go along with this.
Sure there are add-ons out there that could be substituted for them but re-skinning is sometimes worse off than building something from scratch. It's almost like a house of cards: It takes time to make but if you want to go rearrange the middle of it, that could prove difficult.

EDIT: Highlighted some differences on OP

Don't we already have a 9mm pistol, combat knife and frag grenade?

Sure Fallout weapons are "just normal weps with some dirt and scratches" but like I said: starting from scratch is sometimes a better option. And an OCD Pro like me doesn't like the colorful, blocky grenade alongside a high-res/realistic looking rifle. It's like making a mini-game with Tier+Tactical AND Rykuta's L4D2 weps: They just don't fit together.

Then how come you don't mind colorful blocky minifigs?

Good point. I will now be annoyed by blockheads for the rest of my life.  :cookieMonster:
