Author Topic: "Don't spend your money on electronic devices"  (Read 1799 times)

My father, being the working, farmer kind of guy, he isn't very fond of technology.

Online banking for him is utter hell.
He doesn't understand Google.
He thinks computers are an utter waste of time.

Well, on my little Xmas list, I was putting a bunch of techy gadgets that I could use to make my computer a little loveier, however, he seen it, and instantly went into his "srs mode", and started to lecture to me that I shouldn't waste my hard earned money on gadgets and trinkets, like he's told me before.

I said, "Well, thats why I put it on my christmas list, so I don't spend anything on it."
He just said in return, "You know I've told you not to buy anything, like that Battlefield game, you still haven't given me the money that was charged to my card"

"That's because you never brought it up to me, and have yet to show me how much it cost on your bill."

"That's not the point, you should save your money for a car or something."

By then, he walks off doing his own diddly doodly thing.
Seriously? A car? He damn well knows I don't have a stable enough job to save up a significant amount of money for a loving car. Plus, no cars here are being sold for less for $10,000 used, because everyone likes to sell them a year after buying a car here in Canada.

Seriously, I can spend my money on what I want, not what you tell me to buy.
If you're buying me something, go ahead, you have full choice over what it is.

Thing is, I don't even need a loving car. I can take the loving bus to school until I'm done with grade 12, then I can just borrow my mom's SUV.

He should've told you to buy a horse, because a car is technically a technology.

you are dumb. there are so many cheap cars, you just don't know where to look.

Most of them are old piece of broken stuff, that'd I have to spend thousands to repair. I'd save up for a decent used car or a new one instead of buying a broken down being of hood stuff.

Jubel kinda has a point, most cheap cars have that cigarette smell and that bad stained leather/carpet seating. stuff like that gets on my nerves.

If I saved up for my own car entirely of my own savings I would never have a car, let alone one that didn't suck lol.

poniz

also m dads about the same except he doesn't say much about it...witch with the way he is makes it worse

This is why the job I want is to do multimedia art, so then the only transportation I need when I wake up is my feet.

Tell your father that the lightbulb was once just a "gadget".

My dad doesn't believe in video games for some reason.  He thinks they're all literally exactly the same and that kids are brainwashed into buying them over and over.

i can buy mostly whatever i want as long as i have the money for it

even then if i don't my parents don't mind helping me out alittle if needbe

you scoundrel!! refusing to pay your dad for battlefield!!! you know full well how much it cost!!!!
