Author Topic: What is it like, getting christmas presents?  (Read 1015 times)

Yeah, you heard me. We don't celebrate christmas and get presents, we only put up a christmas tree and extremely pretty decoration lights :D

But still, I wish I'd get maybe ONE present :l

There's another holiday in the netherlands called "sinterklaas" which is pretty much the same, but we also don't celebrate that. :U

discuss holidays that are only celebrated in your country, or just holidays that are not celebrated by every country

it's like

getting a box

and wondering whats in side that you would like

rip a piece off and notice you've wanted it for a long time

i might as well waste all my money on christmas presents for myself so I can feel this joy
afterwards i might wanna become a paperboy to earn it all back

THIS IS TOO EPIC!

I wouldn't know :c

Join the club, brother.

On Christmas morning, each member of my family wakes up when they feel like it, comes downstairs and opens their respective stocking.  The stocking is filled with small assorted candies and small things, sometimes a few bits of office supplies in there too.

After everybody is awake, we grab some of the delicious breakfast my parents have made with christmas music playing in the background, then head over to the christmas tree which is so full of presents that you can't see the base of the tree.

We designate a member of the family to hand one present at a time to its respective owner, who then opens their present.  This goes on until every present has been opened, and the wrapping paper and boxes are put into either the garbage or the recycling.

After the gifts are over, we will then try out the new gifts or help clean up the breakfast dishes, then bring out plates of cookies, brownies and other baked goods and eat them while playing any new games we got as a family.

It was only a few years ago that I found out this is not how everyone does it. :c

Reminds me of this video.

I usually get to open a present on Christmas Eve, but I like to save the best presents for last c:
It's also fun the try to guess what's in the box, unless your parents are lazy like mine and some of the presents suffer from box in a box in a box syndrome.

I'ts like
There's something you really want and whatnot, and then on Christmas you're all so excited, then you open the box, and you're like "OMG :D "
its fun
especially when you have relatives who send you the most random stuff
