the facts are, dimes and quarters before 1965 are 90% silver. while anything afterward has none.
as themselves they are worthless. i guess if all the world's economies go under and we are literally back to trading silver and gold in a barter system (they would have value then) THEN these 2 coins can be used.
as of right now, they are worth the 10 and 25 cents they are stamped with.
i melt em down and have the silver properly made into stuffty shaped bullion, stuffty no name stamped, then properly assayed at a jewelery shop for a unit serial number.
then i put these little 2 ounce bars in a safe and there they sit for bisjac's long term savings.
yes you could keep the coins yourself. but you cant make use of the silver value in the dimes and quarters unless we hit a depression or something.
so to sum it up; yes i earn more off the coins then they appear, and you could as well. however you cant unless you follow all the steps.
so instead of buying bubble gum with them, ill give you twice the face value for more bubble gum.
