ADD and ADHD are terms by parents for "That stage in a child's life where they are really annoying" and so they prescribe brain killers to kill their enthusiasm.

No wonder no one gives a stuff about anything anymore.

I haven't been tested but from my actions i think that there is a possibility i have it.

Don't you just love how many people are "diagnosed" with ADHD?

The brain does not like changes to its chemical balance except very gradually. Virtually all medications for ADHD and depression need to be both ramped up and down on, or things can be very unpleasant. In the case of amphetamine withdrawal, yeah it's pretty much a straight up jonesing.

I recognize that Night Fox and probably others are just trolling for lulz but this is srs bsns. Everyone is a tiny bit of everything ever, and when a trait is expressed way way more than normal to the point that it impairs normal functioning, that's when it's called a mental disorder. These are very often caused in whole or in part by maladaptive thinking patterns, and having a good set of talks with a trained therapist can help you untie these patterns and become more functional. However it is more of an art than a science, and to boot it's impossible to tell up front with any kind of diagnosis tool if it's that or a full-blown biological defect.

In the case that biological factors pre-dispose someone to either a tendency or certainty for a mental illness, you actually need to do something. Many veterans with purple hearts can tell you that an indomitable will to prevail can go a long way, but at some point a soldier's body can be injured such that no amount of sucking it up is going to make them functional, and no really they need a loving medic. Even the human mind has constraints of potential based on the laws of physics. This is what psych meds are supposed to be for.

I think Clinical Depression is an awful name because it's awkward to say unless you shorten it to "depression" and then everyone gets the impression that they know what you're talking about, when they're really absolutely different. A normal human being's depression is when something is really really unfortunate and they feel bad as a result. This makes sense and is not a disease. My best understanding for a primarily biological depression is that the sufferer has little or no capacity to feel contentment or at ease with existence, regardless of the situation. It is, unless powerfully distracted, feeling completely emo on the inside even when you will admit to everyone that objectively, your life is pretty awesome. If that doesn't make sense, then grats, you now understand why it's called a mental illness. It doesn't make sense. Again, this is just an exaggeration of something you've already felt: having a "blah" day where you don't really feel like getting anything done and are bored with everything. Imagine that much more powerfully and it never goes away ever.

I have less experience with ADHD, but some, and it's the same thing: everyone's mind wanders. But imagine it happens all the time, and irresistibly. Yes, it gets over-diagnosed in young people. Yes, just as with depression, it's amazing what many sufferers can accomplish without treatment, which can give the impression that it's not "real". But you wouldn't call a missing leg "not real" just because people with home-made crutches instead of prosthetics can still be productive members of society. These things are real, and you should just do your homework and learn about this stuff before you start spouting stuff you heard from other people who also had no credentials, or you end up sounds like this guy does about gay people (1:50, but the whole vid is good). Great is the virtue of the person who, having not learned a bunch about a subject, has the courage to say "idk lol" or just not post.

If this seems like I'm taking it all serious then it's because it kind of hits close to home, and I had to learn about this stuff out of necessity. The truth can tend to rob things of their humor potential, but there you go.

Srsly I say "idk lol" all the time when I don't know stuff about something. It's easy.

Depression is an emotional state of mind caused due to mental pressure.
ADHD shouldn't even exist. As far as I'm concerned, people with "ADHD" are people who want to go on their primeval instincts and hunt for animals in a goddamn freezing tundra searching for polar bears and killing them for survival. That's what it is, not some disease or disorder.
