Is it just me, or is weaponry overly cheap?

If you don't believe me, go on Ebay and type in "Katana". Nice ones are about 150$, and the cheap replicas are about 25$. Doesn't that seem a bit cheap for a folded steel blade? Any old psycho with a credit card can order one up and be on his merry way. I mean, I love the fact that there's a sword in the mail with my name on it, but still. I always thought swords and such were like, $1,000?

Don't be fooled. Most "Replicas" don't pass any quality tests and would probably break if used in a real combat situation.

Knives are easier to control, and usually can be sharper/have more force put behind the blade.

Real combat situations would involve buying a time machine and taking it to a time where people won't laugh at you for having a sword.

I would love to collect old arms and armor and have some sort of room dedicated to housing them, if I had the money. But I would never think to use them.
Swords aren't more dangerous than a knife in this day and age. A knife can be easily concealed, while a sword is obvious and easy to prepare for.
