Author Topic: I loving hate my math teacher. (another loving school topic)  (Read 2806 times)

Background: My math teacher is old, stubborn, and boring as hell.

So, I wasn't in math during school Tuesday because I was at the dentist. I thought that I could merely make up any work and go on as if I had been there on Tuesday. Well today, she gave us a "Warm-Up"  on something we learned that day, and I couldn't figure it out, so I referenced my notes. By the time I had finished going over them the rest of the class had moved onto another packet extending on what we had learned that day. They were half way through, and I was totally lost, so I pulled out my notebook and started drawing in it. I did this because I didn't want to interrupt her along with the whole class and ask to see all the notes from the first two pages, which are pretty much essential for understanding everything else. So I was into my notebook like I said before and would ask for the notes afterwards. Not more than a minute later though, she walked over and took the notebook from me telling me that I should be doing the packet like everyone else. I tired to explain my case but she wanted to hear none of it. and I put the notebook on the empty desk behind me and at least tried to understand the packet, with no luck. Then Chandler, who sits behind and to the right of me, says he had wrote in the notebook. I had no way of knowing if he did or not because it was behind me, so I picked up the notebook and flipped through trying to see if he did or not. I must have had the book in my hands for less than thirty seconds, but my teacher then called me up and took the notebook from me, putting it in her desk and she told me to stay after class. So, I sat down, shoved everything off my desk into my backpack, and started lounging at my desk, in disbelief of everything that had happened within fifteen minutes. Chandler, (He is a friend of mine by the way) was in hysterics. I couldn't help but crack a small smile for a few moments, but went back down into anger at my teacher within seconds. After class I tried to explain to her what happened, so she pulled the notebook out of the desk momentarily ad said,"Are these math notes?" I replied "No", and she said,"Well, then you have no excuse." and put the notebook back into her desk. I walked out then.

/Rage.

I also just realized I still don't know how to do some of it.

Quick recap:

You missed school because you were at the dentist's office, didn't understand what was going on because of such, didn't bother asking at the beginning of class, didn't bothering asking a simple question when people were working, started drawing because of the aforementioned lack of initiative, got in trouble, roped a friend into it, the teacher is to blame for her inept abilities of teaching and general omniscience on matters pertaining to her student.

...Something is askew with this line of logic, mio fra'. :o

My math teacher is noice. Get =>90 on a test and you get an Ice Creamity Sundae / Float

This pretty much. Also google for some math help.

If you had told your teacher in the beginning of the lesson i think they would have been a lot better, seems mostly your at fault.

My math teacher is awesome

That's nothing my friend was out of school for three weeks and our Trig. teacher refused to teach him what he missed!

Ok class, now were gonna re-learn the same things from 3 weeks ago!

you do have a point there. However it was after class in the period where teachers are supposed to help kids with that sort of problem.

And? No teacher is just going to re-do the last 3 weeks for anyone.

So by trigonometry I'm assuming you're at least in high school level.

In high school teachers won't chase you down if you miss a day.  They hardly even do it if you miss project deadlines.  If you miss it they don't give two stuffs, they'll drop a 0 in your grades because you forgeted up.  It's your responsibility to get things done.

Same goes for make-up work.  If you miss class, see the teacher(s) ASAFP even in the morning.

Also you were doodling in class and banking on the teacher having magically known that you were absent and didn't make up work.  If you don't get something, raise your hand unless otherwise noted.
