Author Topic: Damn high school homework  (Read 903 times)

I am so pissed off right now. The last couple of weeks so far in my english class have been as annoying as forget.

So just today my english teacher passed out this assignment to all of us about a 'Socratic Seminar', which we have to come to class prepared tomorrow with, or else we get a failing grade on the assignment.

The problem is that it's got 8 massive questions i'm supposed to answer and that I have to cover every single question and subject asked within it with 'specific quotations', 'chapter summaries' and other stupid stuff like that. It's almost 9:00 at night now and i'm still stuck on the first loving question, with like 7 paragraphs so far that aren't even enough to cover half of the damn question.

Not to mention that I have like 4 other huge assignments that are long overdue that I have to turn in, all worth about a test grade. I just can't get it all done in time, and my grades keep falling lower and lower.

loving HIGH SCHOOL, WHY THE HELL DOES IT HAVE TO BE SO HARD?

I need some tips or something, it's hard doing this on my own and I can't focus with all this frustration.I seriously want to order a punching bag for christmas
What should I do?

What's with all the recent " I hate x in school" topics?

Socratic Seminars are fun

I just had one in English

what sucks if when you have to do one in Spanish

I don't know but they should build a bridge and get over it or go to a school that doesn't blow.

did it in 7th grade, pretty easy as long as you know each topic and know where your examples are.

i

hate

English

Im also lazy though, yesterday i had an essay due, and i had only written my rough draft. i had to type it up on my iPad, email it to one of my teachers, and have him print it all between 1st and 3rd period

idk what grade yet

welcome to vietnam kid.

7th Grade Socratic Seminar = 3 paragraphs that are 9 sentences each

High School Socratic Seminar = From the way he described it, over 100 paragraphs, with probably 13-14 sentences each

forget English class. I have an F in it right now because I'm a moron and paid no attention to deadlines.

English as in grammar is easy
I'm not really a writer though
unless I'm interested in the subject
in which case I am very likely to not only write about it, but go way overboard

Oh grammar and vocabulary stuff I can ace in a heartbeat.

I just hate reading stuff.

I love reading
This. I can get science and social studies done in a snap, but I don't like math.

I agree with above poster
