A new English trailer has been released, which reveals the localized names of our two most recent additions as well as a few new ones and some insight to brand new mechanics

Wimpod's ability Wimp Out allows it to flee from battle (or switch out with another Pokémon in the party) at low health.

Comfey's ability Triage gives highest priority to HP restoration moves.

Mudsdale's ability Stamina increases its Defense every time it's hit by a move.

Mimikyu's ability Disguise allows it to avoid damage from the first attack used against it.

Bewear's ability Fluffy halves the damage taken by moves that make direct contact, but doubles the damage it takes from Fire attacks.

Additionally, Sun & Moon will introduce the ability to host your own special competitions with custom regulations via the Global Link, as well as a new mechanic called Hyper Training that allows you to increase the IVs of a Pokémon that has reached level 100 in exchange for Bottle Caps, a Heart Scale-like item.

wimpod looks so sad... :(

Comfey, Mudsdale, Bewear?

I do like how Mimikyu's name is the same in English, just minus one 'K'

I'm glad they kept it, it's a good name

that (presumed) battle music tho

Just a reminder that the Shaymin event ends on Sunday

couldn't you do hyper/IV training in x/y? I could be remembering it wrong though, haven't played those games in a while

that is for EVs, not IVs

EVs are stats earned through battling

IVs are genetic stats

ohh, thats right IVs are the ones you try to get through breeding

i don't like mimikyu (as they presented it) and i hate the flower necklace

we already have 3 pokemon whose primary abilities are to transform into/disguise/mimic other pokemon, those pokemon being ditto, zorua, and zoroark

mimikyu has some potential if they reveal that the weird drawn-on-cloth pikachu costume really is just a costume and not some sort of part of mimikyu like machoke's belt (why does machamp have a belt)

for example only urban-living mimikyus have costumes made of, say, burlap with drawn on features whereas mimikyus in deep jungles could have a hollowed out oran berry with leaves on top to mimic an oddish. a pokemon who mimics using wit, rather than pokermang magic

anyway i just conceptually hate that dumb necklace

i get that pokemon have been based off of human devices/clothing/construction for a while now but seriously? a flower necklace?

maybe if they made it look like a snake or a centipede

but nope

it's clearly a loving cord with flowers on it, save for the very end where it's like a flowering onion

they've already "revealed" that

it's a piece of cloth and a stick
