I caught Regirock last night and unlocked Iron Cave.
Today, I caught Registeel on my second Ultra Ball. It was done much faster than I expected.

Suit yourself. I've beaten every game with a Grass-Type starter.

you could beat a pokemon game with any combination of pokemon provided it's not 6 magikarp.

the games are designed to allow you to win with any combination of pokemon because it's about bonding with your friends, not which is the best

but competitively, grass types are garbage.

I've been playing through games with pokemon I caught only using premier balls. Mmmm that 1x catchrate and pearly white ball with a red stripe.

I wouldn't prefer using my starter for competitive battles, anyways.

whoops

whatever, you got my point

I feel like a Pokemon game where the turn-by-turn mechanics were replaced with Final-Fantasy-style Active Time that was based on the speed of the Pokemon would be an interesting experience

That'd be super cool. I dunno, though, it'd be a pretty big change to the mainseries, but not enough for a spinoff.

Red: Bulbasaur

Gold: Chikorita

Sapphire: Treecko

Leaf Green: Bulbasaur

Diamond / Platinum: Turtwig

Heart Gold: Chikorita

Black: Snivy

White 2: Snivy

Y: Chespin

I have literally owned at least one of every released generation RPG title of Pokemon.

Yep... Literally, and you thought this generation sucked (People, not Pokemon).

I might as well buy heartgold and borrow a friend's DS

I'm pretty sure most of us have

"Not owning a lot of Pokemon games" is not a reason people think this generation sucks

Can someone explain in a nutshell what EV training is? I know it's something about how if you fight certain pokemon you'll get a certain amount of EV points, but is there any reason for me to do that instead of just cramming vitamins down my mon's throat or taking it to the dojo/ring/coliseum on join avenue?
