I can't imagine them messing up froakie.... I mean I imagine its final evolution to be a mix between toxicroak and accelgor for some reason~

Plot Twist: They purposely made them look bad so people can start appreciating the kanto starters.

It's obviously also why the new starters don't get mega evolutions.

fennekin final evo is horrible, new mega charizard... not sure why it turns black and blue but I guess it's nice for it to be able to survive stealth rock

It's odd that it's Sp Attack is higher than it's Attack though, considering it looks sort of like a ninja and all.

I was assuming by the looks it'd be a bit more like Blaziken's stats.

This is probably a Greninja only move, and it's PROBABLY PROBABLY PROBABLY a special move, and that's why it has higher SP Attack
