why would you want some random shiny? I know they're cool and all, but really if I got a shiny wingull, I would see it more as a trophy gathering dust in my box rather than a medal I proudly wear and use on my team as a symbol of my dedication to the game.
yes but what if you got a shiny bidoof?
it is a shining symbol of dedication to the true craft of the game's internal struggle
it is the icing on the cake of this manly physique
it is the true savior of the pokemon

B^)

And the shiny sparks appear only when the illusion wears off, I hope?

It might not be a wingull, I cannot honestly remember encountering a wingull via fishing, only pokemon like clauncher, stunfisk, poliwhirl and luvdisc. I'll be doing my chaining with a super rod so no luvdisc there.

my point was that why fish for a small set of pokemon (with a chance of getting one that you don't even want) rather than breeding for the one that is exactly what you want, with the nature and moves to compliment it.

It's easier and I'm a bit of a lazy bugger, plus I'm already on chain 9 whereas if I were breeding pokemon, I wouldn't have hatched one yet.

More information has been revealed about Diancie and its role in the series, this time by Nintendo themselves.

Diancie, as some people had suspected, is actually a sudden transformation of Carbink. No details about distribution have been revealed, but the new trailer claims they're "coming soon". There is also a synopsis of the upcoming movie, set to be release this July in Japan.

Quote
The story is set in Diamond Ore Country, of which Diancie is the princess. This is a country located deep underground, where the Pokémon Carbink live together in peace. The energy source of this country is a giant diamond called the Sacred Diamond, which can only be created by princess Diancie. However, the current princess doesn't yet possess the power to create such a diamond, and the current Sacred Diamond's power is soon going to run out, which would result in the end of the country. Diancie meets up with Ash and Pikachu, and set off together with them to search for the legendary Pokemon Xerneas, which possesses sacred power, but on the way, they find the cocoon where the Destruction Pokémon, Yveltal, who was said to have once destroyed life in Kalos, lies in wait.

There is also allegedly a shiny version of Diancie that was shown in a Pokedex entry, but I can't find an official source. It seems as though it may have been posted on the Pokemon website by accident and then removed.

gee i'm silly
we talked about this earlier but is yveltal and xerneas also locked?
