No, "Merchant" is actually a person. I've seen him, he even sold me an adamantite chainsaw for my Hamdrax.

"Merchant" seems to come to every server posted here, build a gold brick house with glass walls and start selling pretty much every 1.1 item. He's a pretty cool guy, I wonder who he is.
