Sleep mode + Dedi = Disaster

So I looked at the console for my dedi and found that when i put my computer on sleep mode everyone timed out. FUUUUUUU whoever told me i could put my comp on sleep mode while dedi is up.

Because while you sleep, your computer is disconnected from the Internet.

This used to happen to me all the time. What I did to fix this is I changed my power options so it won't ever go into sleep mode or standby mode ever again. That fixed this whole problem but if you are using a laptop, you will have to keep it open cause when laptops are closed they go into standby or sleep mode.

This is a nice feature I would use if I actually took my laptop anywhere on a regular basis, but I do not. So I basically disabled automatic sleep/hibernate on my laptop.

My laptop is always plugged into the charger, so I see no reason to turn it off :)

There's a reason no one worries about power consumption for computers.

Here's a wattage charge I got from here

Cooling
3500 watts Central Air Conditioner (2.5 tons)
1440 watts Window unit AC, huge
900 watts Window unit AC, medium
500 watts Tiny-ass window unit AC
750 watts Central AC fan (no cooling)

I was able to measure my laptop's power usage at 50% CPU (2 cores total), and the screen on. I estimated the wattage at ~10-15 watts. This is nothing compared to the chart above of cooling equipment.
