Have you considered the fact that maybe it's
like
in progress?

I think they're working double time update wise to make sure nobody can hack into their systems.

ITT: really impatient people.

A two hour long update?
VALVE?

"boo hoo i cant talk to my friends".

They aren't sticking forks into the circuitry just to forget with you.  They're working on improving the service that has no less than 1.5-2 million people on it at once, at peaks it nears 5 million.  That's a lot of damn traffic.

They're making things better, don't be all brown town about it because it interrupted your cyber session.

thisthisthis.

They're probably like quadrupling all measures to ensure that the encrypted data of our information won't get accessed again.

yeah and they're doing this right at the peak lol
great timing!

edit: what i mean by that is, obviously not a planned update as no one is stupid enough to try and roll out a new update at peak usage hours

Or whatever the hell you were doing anyway, whatever.  I have like 3 things I need to send to different people on Steam but I'm waiting patiently.

read my edit :panda:
Do they really care about if we can talk to our friends or not?  Not really, they're doing it when it's most convenient for them.

Gaaaabe.

Is the update here yet?

Steam is powered by the souls of a thousand lost men all of which are in eternal torture for wanting Half life episode 3.

It's what you expect.

Last time I checked, they can do whatever they want with Steam, seeing as they, y'know, own and operate it. Additionally, they don't just suddenly decide, "hey there's over 2,000,000 users online, now seems like a great time for some maintenance/updates." They do actually plan their maintenance sessions, regardless of whether or not they happen to occur during periods of high usage.

lol wat
every company plans maintenance and upgrades/updates for times of low useage
everyone knows this, i thought

of course they CAN do them whenever they want lol, you pretentious starfish. never said they COULDN'T, just that they WOULDN'T

Lol, it's just maintenance.

Not worth blaming the developers for making life easier for you.
