Author Topic: Is it wrong that I prefer most games to be windowed?  (Read 2401 times)

I pretty much never do anything fullscreen. The only games I do fullscreen are extremely old ones with limited or broken support for Windowed Mode (Which, being an old game, usually looks terrible at 1920x1080), or for a split second with Minecraft to take more detailed images.

I used to fullscreen everything but it just caused problems and was slow so now i window everything.

Full screen or nothing, except for Blockland.

"Small" games like Blockland or Minecraft I prefer to have windowed, but other games like CivIV or Sims I want fullscreen.

I only play Blockland windowed because when I play Blockland I'm multitasking. (scripting etc)
Otherwise fullscreen.

I almost always play in windows
because for one thing I need to be able to do other things
and because my GPU isn't great and small resolutions don't look good in fullscreen

Always windowed, but in the biggest res my screen is capable of without cutting any edges. Which usually is 1156x960 or something similar.

I like windowed on things like WoW and Kerbal Space Program.
I like fullscreen on things like Skyrim and Call of Duty.

Fullscreen. I don't have a reason to switch windows, I'm more focused on the game.

Just change the fullscreen resolution. .  ?

which is what I do ... I just didn't say that part since I thought it would be obvious

Fullscreen when it supports 1080p, windowed when supported and can't go to 1080p.  Why are you guys accessing background programs when playing a game?  The only thing I ever do is browse the web occasionally, and then I use steam for it.

Fullscreen windowed on big screen, other screen for chat programs, internets or videos. Also I alt-tab out of games to talk on steam even when I could be using the overlay.

Some games are less active than others.

There's also more to do than browse the web on a really bad browser.
Like making mods/add-ons. Which you don't do in-game or in a bad web browser.

Are you a wizard?
windowed but with only the start bar showing
