They should have had a mechanic similar to the Summer Camp Event where you could "buy" DLC or in-game items with your tickets (or in this case, coal)

That way people could either spend the coal on items or save them for contest entries

You should get Half-Life 1 (Not Source). Cry of Fear will work with it.
