Plot (i think)
Bots was an online sci-fi robot beat em' up typed multi-player game, At the beggining, You (the player) is asked to select 3 kinds of bots:Patch,Surge and Ram. Including 3 gamemodes:Sector(somewhat the story line of the game),PVP(player vs player),BVB(base vs base)

Bots
Ram:

Created on the concept of an insects' adaptability. Using its unique arm, Ram is a multi-task machine with hidden weapons and quick attacks. ~official description


Patch:

Possessing strong physical power, Patch was originally designed as heavy construction machinery. But later it was remodeled as combat machinery. ~official description


Surge:

Designed only for combat purposes, Surge can smoothly move around on any kind of terrain by its antigravity cyber core. It uses powerful laser attacks to penetrate heavy metals. ~official description

BOUT Evolution is a server for the once popular game BOTS!! Today BOTS!! is now long gone. Bout Evolution is provided for ex BOTS!!/BOUT players to play this game once again,after the main server collapse of the original developer(N-log Soft).

Yes but armour goes in one direction...Coin items may awnser your question... And no you cant make your own...Acclaim made this before bout evolution...

It used to be popular since 2006 but than it was defuncted 2 or 3 or 4 years after due to financial problems

Acclaim sold 9dragons and acclaim itself was also bought but than the site shut down by the people who bought it....

What i noticed is that Bout Evolution turns out being way different than the original... Because i dont recall a Klez as a boss in the tutorial level...
