PowerDag is a good friend of mine and an admin on my server. I know him very well, and he doesn't ban unless there is a good reason to. He is admin on a decent amount of other servers I know of these days because he is a good and fair admin, so I think you are in the wrong here. You were probably breaking the rules or acting stupid and it was bothering people on the server, but the entire story wasn't told here so I can only hypothesize. Nonetheless, I believe you most likely deserved your ban.
As an added note, the banhammer is set to only ban for 60 mins by its default settings, and the fact that its not a super-commonly used mod, in addition to most hosts not bothering to change that limit, justify its use when necessary IMO.
