I am not atheist, and I doubt I ever will be, because personally, I find the beliefs that usually go along with them (the big bang, and evolution) to be silly.
atheism dosnt have beliefs. im sure many atheists do believe in big bang and evolution. but its not a requirement as the greatness of atheism dosnt tie them down to a structured belief. that would be dangerous like..... how religion does lol.

you seem to be under the impression that atheism is a religion. you have a lot to learn.

Atheism is the belief that there is no God. Or, since some people are SO offended by that wording, it's the lack of a belief in a God.
If you don't believe in a God, and don't "just not care," then you probably believe in The Big Bang or evolution. I am not satisfied just believing nothing, In my opinion, believing nothing, and doing nothing to figure it out, is irresponsible. If I were atheist, I'd probably believe in the Big Bang, or evolution, and those are both very silly ideas in my opinion.

besides, you're kind of changing the subject. I'm not talking about whether or not atheism is a religion, I'm asking you to stop constantly mocking Christianity and having prejudice.

atheists believe many 100s of different things, and debate with each other all the time about it. much like how religions could debate things with each other.
there isnt some list of things atheists must/even do believe in.

it must be amazing to live in such fear, that the only thing you can think of as an example is god/no god.
what is your world like? lol

I'm asking you to stop constantly mocking Christianity and having prejudice.
and no i will not.

part of being a good chirstian is being persecuted and being strong of faith about it.
why dont you practice.

what is your world like? lol
It's actually completely fine without stress or fear, because I believe that when I die I'm going to go to a nice place. That's the beauty of it, not having to worry about the uncertainties of death.

believing nothing, and doing nothing to figure it out, is irresponsible.
Wtf are you talking about 'doing nothing to figure it out'?
Science is all about figuring stuff out.
Religion is the one that sticks with its outdated ideas and ignores contradicting evidence

and those are both very silly ideas in my opinion.
The reason most people think its silly is because they haven't been educated as to what the theory actually states, and just spew out the twisted rewording that other religious believers have spewed out.
Also the "it's just a theory" bullstuff argument

what if it's the same for someone without religion though?
I mean I'm not eager for it, but I don't worry about what's going to happen when I die, at all

you imply people who believe in other gods, or no gods fear death?
this is based on nothing but propaganda. and is actually quite false.

its fine if you feel safe with your religion, but you pop a whole can of worms when you faithfuls make stuff up like this to put yourself above others. thats not what jesus would do lol

> assuming that there are no Christians who do not actually seek out and deeply study evolution and actually form an opinion on it.
> It is a theory, but a well supported one to the point where it wouldn't hurt at all to put it in textbooks as legitimate unless proven otherwise
> You're argument is poorly thought out and unresearched.

bisjac, you're forgetting your comic sans.

i called you a liar. that "people who dont believe in my god just fear death" stuff has been used by multiple religions for many 100s of years. its a ploy to not make real comparisons.

well if you Read, you'd notice I never said that all atheists believe this or that. I said that if I were atheist I would believe in the Big Bang/evolution. And those ideas are silly imo. So I won't ever probably become an atheist. I'm not assuming that "one atheist is like this, so they must all be like this." Like you are with Christianity.
I never said that the only thing I think of is God/no God. The only time I even mentioned something like that was when I talked about atheism. Which it's basic core belief, is that there is no God. That is all I said.

I'm not going to keep going on with this conversation as you keep taking things out of context, and you continue to stray from the original subject

a theory means the data is there and its study-able.

but to make something scientific "fact" you have to recreate it in controlled studies.

gravity is still a theory, because we arent rdy to build another solar system to prove it isnt unique to ours.

I still don't get anything you're saying, but I assume you mean that I do actually fear death and that I'm just trying to use it as an argument?

I don't know why you would try to make thoughts in my head to argue with in the first place, but I assure you that I'm a lot more certain about my death than I would be without religion.
