If they'd stopped at master chief I'd be ok with it.
Like where he could come in, save Louis, then gtfo, sort of as a joke. Then they would continue on and be saved.
Nobody would be able to complain about that part because if it wasn't there Francis could have just looked back, shot the witch, saved Francis, then the video could be exactly the same. Adding one silly scene is hardly plot-changing.

I laughed when he came in but then they drew out the joke.

Did I say I hate Halo? Nope, I actually like the game somewhat. I said that because I don't get why they had to put in Master Chief. I wouldn't know if the Gears of War guy, "Scorpion", or Ghost came in because I closed the tab at Master Chief. Why would I be "made" about any of those characters?
