I think it's fake, it directs you to orangebox.com.

http://atramental-plateau.com/

Press ctrl A on the page.
"E3 2012".
Atramental, fyi, means black or inky.

LIKELY FAKE!

At this point no information is confirmed by Valve.  All information is speculation, educated guesses, or just assumptions.

We can only hope

I wish there was a way to verify this, because I can almost assure you Valve won't say a word even if it's not theirs

Exactly.  All we have to go on is "E3 2012".  That's 6-7 months far.

There's also the fact that one valve employee was wearing a HL-3 shirt. And Gabe Newell also semi-hinted/trolled a reveal at e3.

Is it possible to even have a site redirect without having control over the site it redirects to? In other words, is it possible that someone other than Valve made "www.half-life3.com" redirect to "orange.half-life2.com"? I would assume so but I have almost zero experience with webpages.

... you're doing it right now.

Also apparently there was a page for Half Life 3 achievements on steam that was taken down shortly after. And all this happened in the span of about a month.

you can redirect to wherever you want
google could redirect to redtube if they wanted

Half-life3.com is registered and owned by Valve Softworks.
http://www.whois.net/whois/half-life3.com

HOWEVER!

black-aperture.com was registered privately with no information given with it.
http://whois.domaintools.com/black-aperture.com
But! It was registered with the same address as the whois info on half-life3.com

Then, there's atramental-plateau.com.
http://whois.domaintools.com/atramental-plateau.com
This was registered and is hosted by a dreamhost user. It is more than likely fake.

Yeah atramental plateau had just the fuzzy black mesa logo and E3 2012 in hidden text.

... you're doing it right now.

I don't follow.

Dropshock the Web Detective strikes again

if this is actually real

forget yes.

if they're actually doing a plot merge

I don't know if I'll be able to contain myself.

if it's fake but was indeed made by Valve themselves

I don't think I'll be the only person who will want to personally punch gaben in the face. repeatedly.

if it's fake and not made by Valve

whoever made it is going to be in some pretty serious trouble.

They have to do a little bit of a plot merge, but I doubt they will go too far into it.

What if it's real but not made by Valve?
