Author Topic: generic thread about sopa  (Read 2679 times)

stop posting them.
we already stopped caring about it a week ago.
everything you're thinking about it is probably wrong and horribly misinformed/misinterpreted from some friendy tech blog or some idiot on youtube (spoilers!: they aren't reliable sources).
there have been at least 5 different ones i've seen in this past week and it's just getting annoying.
discuss.

Yes.

Everybody also assumes the worst things will happen with it, it gets old after a while. If it really is that bad, the public opposition will be so strong that it will be repealed.

its funny because there are people freaking out and believing that like the entire internet is gonna be censored and stupid stuff like that

yet as far as i can tell nothing different has happened, everything seems to be the same

because it hasn't passed yet?????
also posting a ton about it is a good thing. to make a big stink and get it not passed, we need to talk about it a forgetload and get supporters.

no it isn't
it's annoying as forget
and nothing else
because the government doesn't read a forum for an internet lego game

you're making everyone paranoid, not getting supporters

What i don't understand is how some people can not notice the dozens of sopa threads and when they finally find it they think "THIS is such important news! Better tell the BL forums!"

you're thinking BLF is that important to the US legislature.

but people do, and since we sorta kinda live in a democracy, people can get it to not pass

Unfortunately, talking about it on the forums won't do anything, even if the entire voting population of the United States of America viewed this site daily. You know why? Because we live in a Republic; And unless people write to their congressmen their issues of concern, the congressmen will automatically take the path that grants them the most money, which in this case is the companies trying to use money to buy the congressmen's votes.

These companies want to control the internet, and they don't need your permission. This is like your annoying little brother asking your mom if he can play your computer. The companies are going straight to the congressmen with barrels of money, because this is a Republic, not a Democracy.
