Well today my friend gifted me a game on steam (No one ever gifts me something D:, so I couldn't say no to it :D). But it wont start up. I get an error when I start it up saying ;

Fatal Error

so I went to my steamapps to see what was wrong and I saw a .txt named, blackbox. It said

what monitor resolution are you using?

hmmm if you're using anything above XP then maybe try running it in capability mode

for win 7 (and vista to i think) you right click on the exe/icon and go under properties then go under the compatibility tab the rest should be simple
