Author Topic: a new way to drive (tanks)  (Read 3174 times)

Tank already drives using wasd. Torque could measure head rotation without client-sided modifications.
ya but you need the turret to follow it (your guys head)

I don't know where swollow got that idea anyway. Tank turret is controlled using mouse anyway lol.

dirve and use turret

dirve and use turret
I don't see what that has to do with what I just said.
I know that you posted the idea of driving and using the turret at the same time. What I don't understand is why swollow thought that it would require a client-sided mod.

it has to follow yourr guys head wouldn't need a cilent?

Im surprised no ones mentioned this already:

Lots of people have requested this, and someone did it. It was a fair time ago, and it wasn't made into a script, or an add-on. I think it had something to do with setAsPlayerControl or whatever that thing is. It ended up glitched or something, so the user could both drive and aim the turret at the same time.

i might have that all ready
but i'm looking at being abel to exit a enter the vehicle normaly with out events

You know, I can't see why not.

You can kind of do it already, though.

Drive to position, cycle to turret, fire, cycle back to driver, rinse and repeat. It's clunky, but it works. kind of. But if someone made this, it would be brilliant for tank wars.

Why would I wash my clothes by hand when I can get a machine to do it for me?
