Author Topic: Rant about game graphics (and gamertards in general)  (Read 2555 times)

reminds me when i was playing oblivion
my bro comes in "THAT GAME HAS TERRIBLE GRAPHICS" even though my settings is at the max.

There's this one game where the characters have square heads and torsos and hands. The graphics are so bad that people who make addons that are too realistic are hated on.

"Terrible graphics make terrible games"
You haven't played Minecraft then.

"Minecraft has terrible graphics"
No, Minecraft has great graphics. It's just the textures are low-end and could be improved.
"Aww, then I hate it and will never spend money on it"
It's a great game worth getting.
"No man, you suck"
You can change the texture pack to 128x textures
"Wow, GIFT ME ON STEAMSSSS PL0x"
You can't. It's not on Steam.
"Man that sucks, it's a stupid game"
...

uh no minecraft has pretty stuffty graphics, no excuses.
doesn't mean it's a bad game but it detracts from the atmosphere quite a bit.

graphics matter a ton.

It isn't the graphics as much as how everything was put together.

yeah, each piece of the game adds to the overall immersion in and enjoyment of a game, and no piece is necessarily more or less important than the others.

modded game obviously doesn't count....... any game can look good modded. notice how the screenshot w/o a texture pack or fancy lighting mod looks really fugly in comparison to the others.

I'm sorry i don't want to play some stuffty-looking indie game that looks like somebody hired a 10 year old to do the graphic art.
Not all indie games look bad mind you. Machinarium for example.

Personally I think graphics do count a bit.  I was disappointed a bit when Crysis 2 was shipped as DX9 only, the motion blur was horrible without DX11.

However if there is anyone I know that says "Call of Duty graphics are totally new", I will yell "forget you in the neck".

Call of Duty has decent graphics and no style at all.

As usual, you are wrong.

Minecraft doesn't have stuffty Graphics, lol.

Anyone who says this probably can't get into the theme of 16x16 voxels.

Graphics are just as important as gameplay.

Call of Duty Black ops doesnt run for stuff on my computer, but MW3 runs at 40 fps on high settings.

As usual, you are wrong.

why would you say that and then supply absolutely no reason as to why he's wrong?
you're just as wrong as he supposedly is until you actually apply reason to your statement.
