Author Topic: Taboo found some old horror games: All Of Our Friends Are Dead & Au Sable.  (Read 1232 times)

digging through my computer from 2001, i found these little old gems, two 2d side scrolling sort-of-shooters that definitely fall under the "horror" genre.
i couldn't really find any info on them anywhere but the official site, so here's my own basic description of each with some stuff from the site (which is http://amon26.site11.com/):

All Of Our Friends Are Dead

"An abstract action adventure taking place in a hellish, twisted world."

In this game you play as a funny looking little white guy with an orange gun. You run about the stages trying to move on to the next area and taking out the many creepy enemies you come across. A lot of stuff happens.

Au Sable

"A spiritual followup to All Of Our Friends Are Dead. You play as a young woman lost in the ruins of a forgotten city buried deep within menacing woods."
"Deep in the towering lost woods lies a forgotten town.  Harmonia has sunken into its depths, seemingly lost forever.  You, however, are a mysterious young woman haunted by the eyes of a memory.  Descending into the woods you will risk everything to find Harmonia."

An image that is in the game's folder. I don't know if it's used for anything, but it certainly gets the message across.

More or less the same in terms of gameplay to AOOFAD. Frankly a fair bit creepier to me, though. A lot more stuff happens.
