will this work or is it off of something?

Yeah, it'll work, just make a better looking model and try flat shading it

i flat shaded it like you said to in the tutorial but it didnt do anything to the model and any suggestions on how to make this look better?

Dunno, its your model, and the tutorial is kinda glitchy, it doesn't flatshade that well when you get the model in the game

If you're referring to my tutorial, it works.  I've posted proof positive.  If it doesn't work for you, you're doing something wrong.  Make sure you're using the newest version of MilkShape...I am.

whats the newest version?

Check the MilkShape website.  Google it.

1.8.1b

My 1.8.1a is being glitchy, all shapes turn out fine, but the cylinder turns out completly black... I may need to get the newest version ya?

my cyclinders dont come out black

Sometimes, even in the newest version, the materials do not appear correctly in the program.

Well, mine do, its glitched somehow, i was trying to make a shield grenade (using the a script to make a .dts when thrown, from the zom-b-gone tank), and i was making a weapon image, i made a cylinder, and it came out black instead of untextured white

Haha that can happen if your faces are turned backwards.  Also, if you mess with the 'emissive', 'specular', etc colors, that'll do it.

is it ok if i still use 1.8.1a for my model? nvm
