The Cutting Room Floor

Holy stuff, this website is really interesting, it documents the lot of stuff that were cut out of games before their release, and also prototypes and things they simply programmed but never used in the games.

For example, here are a few highlights from their pokemon sections.
Pokemon Red & Blue

Did you know the pokedex order was going to be much, much more different in Red and blue?

That by default, in the U.S version of the game, the names for the player and rival are "Ninten" and "Sony" , and can be used by skipping the name selection dialog via cheats?[/url]

Pokemon Gold & Silver
Did you know that a lot of the sprites were changed for international localization?

That the game was originally going to have it's own safari zone, that is still in the game's code but inaccessible?

That the developers left the early maps for the towns in the code?

Interesting secret, MW2.

Did you know Gordon Freeman was suppose to turn into a zombie mermaid in Episode 2? They had to cut it because they took too long and were occupied making hats.

Interesting secret, MW2.
This could be used to make an epic creepypasta

Portal originally included a "This is sparta!" wet floor sign.

Hurry, get away!
This makes great creepypasta material too.

okay

How?
"Hurry, Get away!" is an unused message for when you go out fighting pokemon when you don't have any yourself in Pokemon Yellow.
There could be a creepypasta when the pokemon kills the trainer, I guess?

i thought you were making a very clever pun about killing floor.

Found this a while ago, but good thread and an amazing website for the curious gamer.

It sucks how most games I search don't appear :c

i read the op and felt like reading some creepypasta. then i remembered why i don't read creepypasta, most of it sucks.

These clips are from an unfinished scene in which you'd hear a recording of Caroline getting forcibly turned into an AI. The scene was apparently cut when Cave Johnson's voice actor expressed discomfort with the scene's content, and the writers agreed.
