Author Topic: Steam just forgeted up most my games.  (Read 1363 times)

So, after the steam crash most my games but MW3 and Killing floor (only ones that work right now)

Dont load! i get the start up prompt where it says

"Preparing to launch :namehere:"

I cant run Gmod or CS:S Fallout NV L4D2, you get the point

HELP ME!

reset steam
problem solved

I went offline for like an hour and restarted it didnt work :c

i would say try reinstalling them but it would be a pain in the ass and if it didn't work i'd be pissed if i were you.. so i don't really have any advice for you unless you're willing to try redownloading one.

That phase of loading is when it verifies with the server that you own the game and such. It's just the servers being stuff, the games on your harddrive are fine. Just wait for Steam to work again.

hmm well most my games take like a day to load i dont want to take all night.

Any better suggestions?

Actully might try this! going offline again to try Koopa's answer to this..

if that's true then it should work in offline mode shouldn't it?

verify the integrity of the game cache for the games that don't work

none of my mods work either but thats cause i forgeted those up a while back and didnt fix em...

@stuntman021

Well
Counter Strike: Source, L4D2, Gmod, Fallout New Vegas, Terraria, Half-Life 1.

All the games that don't work and i get the Launching prompt but it will just sit there and not close down and start up the game like it does all the time...

WTF is with steam today?

I remember trying to play games while the servers were loving up. I'd get stuck in Preparing to Launch phase as well. Stopped once the servers came back again.

did you try verifying the integrity of their cache? right click, click properties, and it's under one of the tabs there

I looked under launch settings and i got -console

Is that right? is this the reason stuff forgeted up?

what do i put in there to fix it?
Nah just kidding

-console enables the console, there's no way it would forget everything up, lol

dont be silly
