Author Topic: Police kill an eighth grade boy for brandishing a pellet gun.  (Read 7640 times)

Natural selection at work.
So much this.
This doesn't happen often enough.
Not the shooting down kids, but the natural selection thing.

I honestly think that airsoft guns, and to an extent paintball guns, should have no purpose in the hands of a minor or unregistered holder. Or at least have them only available in the ranges/fields/whatever they're called. Time and time again you hear that there was some sort of accident involving them, especially around where I live.

The police had every right to take action, assuming they aren't lying in that article. The person removed the safety cap and refused to listen when they said to drop it. Like someone said earlier, that area's law enforcement is trained to not take stuff.

That's why I'm saying he should have been educated more. The fact he was able to attain this without an adult is a mystery. You have to be 18 or older to buy an airsoft weapon. Before me and my parents even considered getting my little brother an airsoft weapon, I had to educate him on all the safety before he even held one. Its not airsoft's fault kids are loving around and not following the rules.

He did it because that bitch at the end of the report friend-zoned him. Also I like how parents always go full throttle blame on the cops when they should be blaming themselves entirely.

I'm not trying to deny that this is a sad event, but why the hell would you point a gun of any sort at a cop and then decline to drop it? It had no orange tip, it could've been a real gun.
reminds me of that time you almost shot someone

The other day on the forum Edman said he wanted to carry around a realistic BB/pellet gun to scare off people. I was going to tell him that was a handicapped idea and this story shows exactly why.

Oh well, another dumbass Mexican kid gone.

This part of the police's fault too, the officer's should have shot his arms or his legs, which would hinder him greatly, but of course they had to shoot him in the guts.

If you saw a person pointing a gun at you and you had a gun would you take the time to look at that gun to confirm if it's real and shoot a non-lethal area, or just shoot them in the chest where vital organs are? As far as the cop knew he was preventing someone with a potentially lethal firearm as far as he knew.

He's doing his job. It's an unfortunate event that could have been avoided but the kid was a dumb stuff who failed some grades so I guess he had it coming.

The shooting was 100% justified. I mean, put yourself in the cop's boots, would you let a Mexican from southern Texas point a gun at you? I mean really, all the people in the comments section of that page aren't reading the details.

you watch to many movies. lol

cops ONLY shoot to kill. granted if the guy is down and the weapon is out of hand they wont continue to keep shooting just to try and kill a guy.
but a cop wont even pull the gun out unless someones life is already in danger, and if he has to use it, its only to kill.

At first I was like "JESUS CHRIST WHY"

Then I read "15 years old, 8th grade". Now I understand.

Any determined person would continue to shoot after taking one in the leg
