Author Topic: House Resolution 1540 (National Defense Authorization Act)  (Read 3795 times)

In the recent hubbub over SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act), there is a bill that has been relatively overlooked, and needs intense scrutiny by literally everyone. House resolution 1540 is, in short, a bill authorizing the US Government to detain indefinitely any American citizen deemed "a terrorist candidate", without trial or court, and able to be captured in or outside the United States. It seems like the focus was moved to SOPA in an attempt to get this glossed over, and either way, it seems to be working. Here are some links to some relavent sites, and the main bill:

Me? I think this could have serious sway, and should be given just as much attention as SOPA.

Oh, and Anon's reaction:

hr1540 is not the sopa bill!!!!

quit worrying about your stupid game pirating and internet research. this bill is actually much bigger news then sopa.
stupids. i been arguing fb people for days over this lol.

edit;
also. anon is handicapped and they have no plan, and cannot help

What is anonymous going to do?

Ask random people to put chain letters everywhere?

in other news, anonymous is handicapped and wants to look like somebody cares about them
and nobody was surprised

we have had like 3 topics on the ndaa before it was even passed. yet you kids dont care until anon bitches about it. with everyone shrugging their shoulders.
jesus christ

frankly i never care about anything the governments really does now because 9 times out of 10 it would probably just piss me off anyway :B

anon is happy to declare civil war, "from my cold dead hands" sort of talk;
but they fail to notice the 100s of JUST activated FEMA camps all across the country created as concentration camps.
civil war comes before martial law. they are to late

I actually only noticed the bill because of a facebook status showing the picture, so I read into it more. I put it at the end for a reason, it's a side-note. :s

Edited out everything cause theres no point forget it we're all going to die anyways

I care, annoyingly now the government has the power to detain anyone who doesn't support this bill now.

The only option now is overtly peaceful demonstrations. But hey anyone who protests is a moron or a whiner as deemed by the media.
u gonna disappear tomorrow for saying that :(

You missed my point. Violent protests are now not an option. I will not be arrested for terrorism for such claims.

Peaceful protests are not an option because the media puppets forget over anything with a valid viewpoint in favor of what they find to be more lucrative.

The third option I can think of is just saying forget it, playing the game* and trying to get enough money before everything blows over that I can build a safehouse on the moon.

*metaphorical game, referring to all the bullstuff government-run "capitalism" that stands today for an economy.
