Obsidian (the makers of New Vegas) have teamed up with the South Park guys to make a game.

RPG veterans Obsidian are taking a break from serious stuff like Fallout: New Vegas and Alpha Protocol, joining forces with THQ for South Park: The Game, a role-playing game that'll see you rubbing shoulders with Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny, as you embark upon an adventure and explore the quiet, backwards mountain town.

With South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone overseeing the venture, you can expect to see favourite characters like Butters, Timmy, Token, Mr. Mackey et al putting in an appearance. And hopefully we'll see Manbearpig too. We're keeping our fingers crossed for that. It seems that you'll get to beat up 'stupid' hippy protestors too, if the images are any kind of an indication.

It also looks like you'll control your own South Park hero through the adventure in South Park: The Game, encountering the popular TV show's colourful cast along the way. South Park: The Game is out this year, and you can check out all seven screenshots in the gallery. Can't. Wait.

I like south park but the game seems like it would be bad.

Sounds like a really bad game.

it's actually going to be pretty good. It's being overseen and directly adjusted by Trey and Parker, the creators of South Park, which they haven't done on any previous games. Their plan is to keep it in development until they feel completely satisfied with it, but knowing them, it won't be on a Valve*Duke Nukem forever release cycle.

I like how they didn't try to make it 3-dimensional. I don't like it when 2-dimensional shows get a 3-dimensional game and everything looks weird.

Yeah i like south park and all but this looks like a really bad game.

Is it bad that a little part of me wanted a 3d game with weird looking models.

This looks pretty lame

That game sucked.

Anyways South Park Tower Defense wasn't that bad of a game neither.

Ginger Fight stage...

:c

The game looks good in that it's faithful to the show's art style. You could play it and fool people into thinking you're watching the show. :D
