Author Topic: Making topics on your postcount  (Read 2923 times)

I really don't see why its necessary for people to make topics just because you hit a certain number of posts. Seriously, why is it needed? How does it affect other users or the average flow of the forums?

I could see maybe making a topic if you reach an actual milestone like 10,000 posts. But I see some topics posted just because people hit average everyday numbers. The most recent one being made because a user hit 1,000 posts. Honestly, who cares? 1,000 posts is not that big of a deal.

Here are some of those very topics:

And so on...

How exactly are we expected to reply to these topics? Congrats on hitting this amount and not getting banned? I personally just see no point in them at all. All they do is take up space. Just because you stuff yourself out of joy over a number displayed on your profile doesn't mean the rest of the forum will too.

"If you don't care, don't post."

Lol this is my 67th post.

Well, a birthday is pointless too. So is Christmas and new years. Heck, let's get rid of it all!

Yea, this topic is pointless as well! Lets just throw em away Count!

"If you don't care, don't post."

Nice try, the rule applies to posting on topics. I obviously care about the problem if I'm making an entire topic on it.

"Anyone who posts "who cares" or "no one cares" or similar dismissive statements will be banned."

You still are in the wrong, no matter what you believe.

Making topics on holidays/birthdays is nowhere related to making one on a postcount. I don't see why you would think this. I have no problem wishing a member a happy birthday or merry Christmas. But what exactly am I supposed to say to someone who reached some dumb postcount?

Yea, this topic is pointless as well!
Ah, so what you are saying is you are dismissing the topic?

The rule applies to posting dismissive statements on a members topic. I'm not posting on a topic. I'm questioning the actions of why a topic is made. I'm not specifically going into a users topic saying it has no point.

Well I guess we will just see in the end, won't we? If I'm banned, so be it.

Being proud of having a certain number of posts is pathetic regardless of the amount.

blahblah

Thread Title: "Making topics on your postcount"

This thread is about making threads on post count and/or post count milestones.

You made a dismissive remark about your own thread's topic.

"...on a members topic."

Please show it me where it says this because it certainly isn't implied.

2post verb: to publish (as a message) in an online forum (as an electronic bulletin board)

And in case you want to get smart:

1mes·sage noun: : a communication in writing, in speech, or by signals

I'm not talking about posts about holidays. I'm talking about actual new years or Christmas.

But I also agree with you, no real point in it.

Are you really this dense? You are taking this way to literal. Where in my topic do I say my postcount? Nowhere. The topic is asking why people make topics saying their postcount. So since I never said mine I'm not dismissing this.

Please show it me where it says this because it certainly isn't implied.
I can't dismiss my own loving topic, christ you're stupid. I also can't dismiss other people's topics indirectly. I'm not going into their topic and saying I don't care about the contents.

He indirectly says who cares in his own topic.

I really can't see what you are getting at here.

Just loving report me and be done with it. If I broke a rule that's fair and I will take my ban.

Okay, I'm done. LOL.
Good, now go run along and bother someone else.

Agreed.
