Giving children nice things purely because you have the money isn't good. I work for stuff I want, and I can't just say "Let's get x, and then y". It's not because my mom doesn't allow me to, it's because she can't give me the money. As a result, I don't take things for granted and cherish what I have. Kids who just get things they want purely because of rich parents generally take things for granted.

What's wrong with being rich? You say it like it's a bad thing. As long as you are thankful, not a cheat, and are willing to help others who aren't so fortunate, I think it's a good thing.

However, with money comes power, and with power comes both more responsibility and difficulty being content. So generally being rich in money is a key cause of corruption if you are not content or responsible.

I get some pretty expensive stuff, but I'm not an ungrateful friend.

Because you are friends with these rich people and you know what colorful lives they live. Most of these people have issues because their parents are snots and treat them like dirt unless they get all A's, the best they can do right now is listen to some music. You're so selfish, insulting other people because you don't have what they have. I'm also pretty sure an iPad and some headphones are the some price as a quality computer, wait, they cost LESS. Please, grow up.

By your standards I would be a 'rich kid'

although I'm not a spoiled little stuff. Choose your response carefully

Apparently, to the OP we are all rich snotty kids because we all have nice computers.

I never even mentioned iPads. Also, clarify your statement a bit because you made it a little hard to understand what with not naming the party being described. Also, I never said anything about music being comfort for mistreated kids. Infact, I said nothing about neglectful parents either. I said nothing about rich parents not giving kids things unless they had good grades either. All I said was that parents who give their children things the second they want them, regardless of price, probably aren't doing it right. Being given stuff 24/7 can make anyone forget how precious what they have is. I'm given things that I honestly can't say I need or deserve, but I love the hell out of the people who give them to me and don't take them for granted. Some other people honestly can't say that.

Damn rich kids, all I have is an iPad 2, a 4g iPod, an HP laptop, a dell desktop, and some stupe phone

How much does an average house usually cost in the LA area?
Depends on where.
@woolys: I'm middle class. These kids were like loving seven.

So? How is age relevant here. You're saying because they are younger... they are stupid?
