I noticed that he wasn't making a bad speech about how much he missed Kurt in a sweater

Cool. i think he should win. skrillex's music is Crap.

I love all the dubstep fanboys trying to defend the genre, lol

same can be said about the "anti-dubstep" party who will go on until their last breath about how their favorite music genre is so superior to another's.

Or people could stop being friends and respect other's musical opinions (but like that will ever happen)

It's the fact that they flip their stuff that makes me laugh.

Have any awards related to Skrillex or deadmau5 being the nominees been given out yet?

Who was that gay band? Get some real music on no more gay rock

There was supposed to be a dance mix featuring deadmau5.

WHERE IS IT.

I enjoy Skrillex's music, and I enjoy metal or whatever people are trying to counter him with. Although I wouldn't say he deserves a grammy for musical skill, he deserves a grammy for popularizing a genre that may have been initially small (as any genre would be) but there's a time for any genre to take the mainstage. And I think Skrillex has helped bring the intensity of dubstep to so many people. I'm sad that everyone is criticizing him for doing so well, because for me it's all about people hearing and engaging with the music. And he's helped open the door to dubstep for millions of people by now, and I think that's a good thing.

To wrap up my little opinion post, I think Animals As Leaders (for example) is perfectly deserving of a grammy for technical skill and for playing with a sort of...mesmorizing intensity. They (along with others of their genre) play with this intensity that doesn't let up for the whole song. It's kind of empowering to listen to, and I give them major props for that along with the immense amount of skill and patience it takes to nail those unbelievable time signatures that they do. I can't follow most of the time, even as a drummer, and it astonishes me.

Bottom line is, the Grammys are to award musicians for excellence. So I think that not liking any artist is perfectly fine, but you have to understand that if somebody is being nominated for a Grammy, they've done something important, something special. I would suggest you all recognize that and not chastise the guy for advancing the great genre that I believe dubstep to be.

I wonder if m83 is nominated.
