Simple idea. Whenever you lose X amount of health in the space of a couple seconds or more you would drop whatever item you were holding at the moment. Would give death-matches a nice twist.

So if you all of a sudden take 60 damage, your sword goes flying out of your hands?

The exact amount would be settable in rtb prefs.

I don't really see how this could be used in a productive way...

Scenario:
JazZ takes 20 damage
JazZ deals 20 damage to attacker
JazZ takes another 10 damage and his gun flys out of his hands
JazZ walks over and picks up his gun.
JazZ kills offender

ALTERNATE ENDING:

JazZ takes another 10 damage and his gun flys out of his hands
JazZ is killed.

It's only if you take it REALLY quickly.

This shouldn't be too hard to make.

I think what he means is If you take x amount of damage in one shot you loose your weapon? Not say, the limit is 60 damage, and if you get shot three times by a 20 damage shot you wont loose your weapon, but if you get hit by a 60 damage shot, you loose your weapon?

Pretty much.

this seems like it would be better for an explosive

like, if you take a grenade round to the face, you're pretty much certain to be disarmed, but if you just get shot you'll probably still hold on

Would be better if when a projectile hits the hand node your drop your weapon. I've been thinking about whipping up a script like that, the concept is pretty simple.

but this makes sense. If you get shot or badly injured in a fight, your not likely to just keep fighting. You would probably drop whatever you're holding.
