Fortunately, Arcturus' server had the Wrench prop on it. I just used the ghost brick so I could get it into the air.

No. It just makes wrenchImage/wrenchItem gold and changes the wrenchItem's user-interface name to "Golden Wrench".

Er, well, I guess it'd be possible to paint people gold right after they die so their corpse is a solid color.

I think that'd be something for Space Guy's TF2 pack, though.

Hmmm.
I see how it would be very epic and quite easy to make players turn gold and tumble (or maybe just freeze in place rather than tumble) when they get hit by the golden wrench.
