Author Topic: First game experiences and why they were awesome.  (Read 1654 times)

Someone mentioned this in the 3-D model topic, or at least referenced it.

Basically what was everyone's most memorable first game?

First game actually played:

And then say any # of others and why they're significant.

I always loved games when I first started playing around 6 or 7 because they were so freaking challenging.
Partly because I had no idea how to actually play it; I never read the instruction manuals.

But in general I would think games were tougher back in those days.

First game actually played: I would have to say was Sonic 3-D blast, i'll assume it was one of the first sonic games. Played it to death.

Others: All the Final fantasy's up to 4, maybe 5. Had all of them for the- Super Nintendo, and I still have all my old games C: .

Conquers bad fur day was great, the swearing was a nono for my parents but they settled as long as I didn't repeat anything. (Which inevitably did happen)

A few racing games that were great, Both the (2-D?) and 3-D versions of F-Zero, an old game called Battle Cars, And another one that was similar to Heavy Metal for the PS2.

Ah, and I have to mention I also played the first mortal kombat for the NES and some kind of power ranger version of mortal kombat too.
(My bro is 2 years older so we would fight each other, I would always want to fight and he would always win. I always thought it was because he got the clear controller.)

So any good memories from sometime in the past?

Oh and Metroid <3

Probably Super Mario Bros 2

another topic about this?

oh well,

super mario bros on the NES and Roller coaster tycoon 1 and 2

Spyro was the first game I played. I played them all until the recent ones for Xbox. They just aren't the same. :c

Definitely wasn't one of the first, there was quite a few before it. Also, the page says on the bottom it's on Steam. Found the page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/34278/ You should totally buy it.

I used to play that game too. How old are you, Kevin?

Also played this one to death as well.

I'm 16 same as my profile.

Halo CE, Zoo Tycoon 2, and Spore are the earliest PC games I played, holy crap they were so much fun.

Runescape, loved the first time, played for a year or two, then they started going down hill.

Was it similar to the playstyle of any mechwarrior in any way?

Because I loved mechwarrior for the most part.

Again had no idea what I was doing, but hell on high water if that was going to stop me.

Well, I was never that intelligent. I remember playing the first Harvest Moon game and being confused why the guy wouldn't give me money at the end of the day. If I just read his text, which was something like "Nothing to sell? Okay." I'd know I have to grow things and put them in the box for money.

My point is, although I played those games, I wasn't intelligent enough to keep track of fond experiences in them. :panda: Love them still, though.

Harvest Moon wasn't the first game I played but it was what I played the most.

I never read the instruction manuals.
Nobody does! haha!

Nobody does! haha!

Well ya now no one does.

I always do if im excited for a game because I buy it at the store and drive home.

I prop up the instruction manual and glance at it at stop signs and lights etc.

I wouldn't exactly call my experiences with these games specifically memorable.

Playing them as a whole was just something I remember really enjoying :U

Oh and Rock Raiders <3
